FAQS

  • Are there certain appliances you don't work on and certain brands?

Yes. That information can be found by following this link: https://www.nuttermans.com/brand-repair

  • Why do you need my model number ahead of time, and where can I find it?

While we know a lot about appliances and how to diagnose them there are thousands of models out there. We will use your model number to research your particular appliance before your appointment so we are armed with the technical data and parts that could be failing.

Every appliance has a sticker or tag on it with the model number.  They are generally accessible without having to pull the appliance out, but you may have to use a flashlight.

The MODEL NUMBER sticker will always say either Model or MOD on it.

Washing Machines and Dryers look either under the lid or inside the door.

Dishwashers look on the inner tub wall. It’s usually on your left and toward the bottom. Sometimes they’re on the edge of the door.

Ranges look in the drawer under the oven. It’s not on or in the drawer but you have to open the drawer to see it.

Countertop Stoves look underneath. You have to get in the cabinet underneath. You’ll see the sticker on the bottom of the unit.

Wall Ovens look inside the oven cavity. It’s not usually on the door but you have to open the oven door to see it.

Trash Compactors open the drawer. It’s clear down at the bottom, usually on the left. Not on the drawer but you have to open the drawer to see it.

Refrigerators look in the refrigerator section. It’s on one of the inner walls. Usually on the right and usually toward the top.

  • I want to do my own repair - can I just buy the part from you?

-We are a mobile service business and are not set up to sell parts. Locally we recommend Marcone Supply or Dey Distributing. They’re both in Lenexa.

We do offer free advice and are DIY friendly!

  • Will you be able to fix my appliance on your first trip?

Everyone is happy when the repair can be completed on the first trip, and honestly it makes us more profitable as well, so we work hard with that as our goal. Our decades of experience enables us to keep a smart inventory of more commonly needed parts, and we will bring along anything we have on hand that we feel might be needed for your repair based on your brand, model #, and problem description.

However there’s just no way to honestly offer a one trip guarantee. Some calls do require a second trip. It’s just how it goes sometimes. When that happens you will be charged the $85.00 diagnostics fee for the first trip. That fee is additional and will not be absorbed into the cost of your completed repair.

  • How much is your service call?

Our normal service call and diagnostic fee, if no repair is performed, is $85.00. After diagnosing your machine, we’ll quote you one flat price that will include all parts, and all fees, so you know ahead of time exactly what the cost is. If you choose to do the repair, this will be the total amount you will owe. If you decide not to have the repair done, then you will only owe the diagnostic/service call fee and sales tax. Additional appliances will incur diagnostic fees of $45-$85 each depending on the complexity of the troubleshooting.

  • Is the Service Call Waived if you do the repair?

Many appliance repair companies big and small use this confusing term. We call it a "gimmick." We feel that the words "waived" or "free" is a bit of creative and misleading word play only to get you to book the service call. We’ve never been comfortable with this type of marketing which is standard in our industry. Rest assured our pricing is fair, accurate, and competitive. We use very typical national flat rate guidelines that many appliance repair companies around the country use to price your repair.

  • Why can’t you tell me a specific time you will be there?

Every appliance repair service call is unique with lots of variables that affect timing, so the tightest time range we can give people is a 2 hour window, since we are usually coming to your home after one or more other jobs. We always give you a courtesy call as we are heading over to your home so that you will know that we are on our way. We try to make it all as convenient as possible for you!
